Rattling for Rituals Necklace

Many Colombian archaelogical artifacts were part of ritual paraphernalia; flutes, maracas and whistles reproduced the sounds of animals or the ancestors.

During pre-Columbian rituals, music was used to recreate the sounds of the Origin. It helped to create a suitable emotional and sensory environment whereby to identify and communicate with the gods, the universe, and the community. Music created an atmosphere which was conducive to getting inmersed in mythical time.

This beautiful necklace has many rattlers and balls hanging from it, symbolically used for this ritual purpose.
